Antique Art Nouveau Courtyard Gate
The gate impresses with its imposing and organically beautiful design in its style and form.
Object type: Courtyard gate, gate, double-leaf gate, entrance gate
Manufacturer: unknown art blacksmith around 1900
Material / Processing: forged solid iron in traditional craft connections (no welding) – pure art blacksmith work from the Art Nouveau period, possibly Dortmund School.
Provenance / Period: from an estate, acquired due to a change of generation, original around 1900
Epoch: Art Nouveau
Style: Pure Art Nouveau
Weight: estimated 160 to 200 kg per leaf, total approx. 400 kg
Dimensions (ACTUAL condition as in the photos):
The width is exactly 5.00 meters (span or clear dimension). The opening at the new location must measure 5.00 meters from left to right so that the two gate leaves fit. Simply flange it on. The height measures 205 cm from the ground, the gate itself measures 195 cm in height. Ground clearance approx. 8-10 cm. This ground clearance can be variably minimized during reassembly.
Note: Old restored with traces of time and use . Primed & painted around 2010. Two iron bars of the ornamentation on the far left are bent due to being hit (see photos). The lock works, but needs to be individually adjusted, as does the swiveling wing attachment with mandrel, which is fixed to the floor by means of a makeshift. Sandblasting is not necessary. Just sand and repaint, or just leave it as it is! The left double-leaf gate in the last two photos is not part of the sale.
